Chipping away....

VERY slowly the studio is starting to take shape. The goal is that by the time our open house rolls around this place is going to look like a Yuletide wonderland. I know it's ages away but I'm pretty darned excited about it. Here is the sneakiest of peeks....

We did a craft show this past weekend and the feedback was amazing. I can't begin to tell you how awesome it is to have stern looking little old ladies melt into happy puddles right in front of you. The gal at the Journey Through the Arts Gallery said the feedback there has been absolutely fantastic too. It makes my heart happy.

There's a new make-a-mess prompt over at my Pixie Hill Studio blog. This week we're making a mess for a stranger! Hop over and check it out...

Shadow Boxes

A couple of pieces I finished up last night. I'll be taking these over to the Journey Through the Arts gallery later today.

I can't believe how much work I've managed to get done this week. There's a bazillion lose ends that need to be tied up, and my house is a complete disaster (I'm actually sort of ashamed of the mess in my studio right now!) but I've had a grand time spending the week just creating and ignoring the dishes.

If you ever have the opportunity to spend a week just making stuff, I highly recommend it. It's good for the soul  :)

Packaging, stickers and tags, oh my!

I've spent the whole of today working on the packaging and tagging of all our items for the craft fair. I can't believe how long it's taken and I've still got a butt load to finish up.

Wish us luck!

They're done!

I know I said I wasn't going to finish these gals because I've got too much to do but I couldn't help myself.

The one on the far right sort of got out of hand. Her name is Latisha, or Lottie for short. She's a bit of a hussy and definately what you might call 'mental'. She absolutely wanted a cigarette but I refused to make her one. Tisk, tisk! She's not all bad though, so I gave her some wings and orange bloomers.

This is Amelia. She's a bit of an odd duck but quite plucky. She has very fancy legs.

The last two gals haven't told me much about themselves yet but here they are anyway.

My big lug.

These are my boys. Just look how handsome they are! They do make me proud :)

That tall guy in the back is the husband. Honest, hard working and respectable, he's the very definition of a "good man", and the best man I know. I'm a better person for knowing P, and after 19 years together, he still  makes me laugh at the very worst jokes.

Ten years ago today P made me an honest woman.
I'm glad to be his wife because I can't imagine exploring the world with anyone else.

I loves you smellyhead!

Stuffed noses and dolls

The kidlet was up and down all night. He's got a annoying cold and his nose will not let him sleep.

"Mum, mum, my dose is stubbed" *sigh*

The wee thing is upstairs right now, even though it's Tuesday at 9:51am and he should be in class. I am grateful I can keep him home and not worry about a sitter. I am not grateful that I can hear him cheering because he's beaten the high score on one of his games.

I've been working on some dolls to take with me to the craft show this weekend. I've managed to finish one.

I'm starting to feel like I don't know my elbow from my bottom, so I might just take this gal and leave the others for Christmas. This way I can attempt to finish the other bazillion things that need to be finished instead. *another sigh*

Here are a few detail pics of the gal above. What do you think her name is? She hasn't told me yet.
