Abundance

Our wallets are empty and things have been pretty damned tight lately, still, we know we are blessed.

Our girls give us fresh eggs daily, and are kind enough to consider our leftovers treats.

Our pumpkin harvest wasn't all we thought it would be, but it's plenty for us.

Our sauce is made, our salsa preserved, our soup is cooked... and still there are MORE tomatos.

It looks as though we'll be buying potatoes sooner than we had hoped...

... but we never expected a sweet potato harvest at all!

Our garden so overflowed that we shared the harvest with our neighbours.

We even had one or two of visitors to the garden...

"When my bankroll is getting small,
I think of when i had none at all,
and i fall asleep counting my blessings"

Wise words Bing.

Wishy Salt Fortune Catcher Things

Do you remember those folded paper fortune thing-a-ma-bobs? I thought about making some to take to the craft fair we're going to in a couple of weeks. My husband said they are called "Cootie Catchers". Apparently they are also called "Salt Cellars".  I prefer "wishy fortune catcher things" though it doesn't quite roll off the tongue does it?

Anywho, here's what I came up with...

And because I like ya, here's the pdf to print your own.

The pile.

I've got loads going on at the mo' and there are project bits and pieces all over the house. While I'm waiting for paint dry on one, I move on to the next. While the glue sets on that, I start something else and make an even bigger mess.

There's so much stuff I want to do and make, but the 'in progress' pile is getting rather large.

Ah well, there are much worse things than having pretty blue pages messing up the place.

Spoon Wands

Just finished up a batch of spoon wands. Each one has it's own special little something and just a smidge of glitter... all except for the the green fairy spying wand because that would just be silly.

Red sky at night

We've been here for a year and a half now and I still never, ever, get tired of this sky outside my window.

Washrooms and Wandy Goodness

You'll notice a load of posts coming up with the Pixie Hill logo on them. Don't get confused, it's me. It's what we're branding our studio. Clear as mud? Fantastic! Here's a juicy little sneak peek...

We're a long way off but it's coming together. It should be a tad easier now that the Big D is back in school. It's been three months since I used the washroom with out hearing "Mum! Mum! Where are you? What are you doing?" That said, I've missed having that funny, scruffy kid around today.

I've had a few spoon wands on the back burner for ages. While waiting for paint to dry and glitter to settle last night I pulled out the old dusty things and started working on them again.

I don't think this one is quite finished but it's the furthest along of the bunch.

And the winner is...

So dearies, the winner of the Make-a-Mess Mish Mash Giveaway was comment number 12... Audrey! Congrats lady :) Your package will be sent out in a week or so when the kid has returned to school and I have regained my sanity.

I've come down with a bit of a cold (thanks to my germy husband) and so I've been a bit discombobulated the past few days, and confined myself to the computer updating computery things.

I really need to get my act together because it's going to be a busy few months. I'm showing some stuff at the Journey Through the Arts gallery/collective in Port Hope. We're also doing the Applefest Craft Show and the Lions Art Show and Sale in Brighton. Last but not least we're setting up the house for a Christmas open house the first weekend in December.

To top it off the father in-law is coming for a visit in a week. Eek! I shouldn't complain because he's lovely and we are all desperate for him to come, but this mess! I don't think I've been caught up on laundry in two months and my kitchen floor looks like it's never seen the wet end of a mop. Don't even get me started on the kidlet's room.

I know, I know... he's coming to see us, won't care about the mess.... the thing is, we've been moving rooms around and it truly does look like a bomb has hit. I wish we had rugs I could sweep things under.

Oy vey!
