This is one of two projects that I've had on the go this past week. It's a wee shrine to Bumble Bee's and the colour yellow. While I do love beeswax, and I appreciate the importance of bees, I have to admit that I don't have a deep rooted fascination with them... I'm sort of scared to death when one comes anywhere near me. I also don't really care for the colour yellow. Hmmm... truth be told I'm not exactly sure what brought on the sudden desire to make a 'Bee themed' anything :)

Oooh, I love this! I have an absolute love and fascination with bees (as demonstrated by my honey bee tattoo). It's gorgeous! Something I may need to make one of these days :D
ReplyDeleteI am allergic to bee stings, but this is so beautiful it makes me a bit less scared.
ReplyDeleteI'm not allergic but you'd think I was from my reaction every time a bee comes near me. My husband merely shoo's them away. I do a crazy lady dance and run in circles screaming "IS IT GONE!? IS IT GONE!?" lol
ReplyDeleteWow, maybe a problem solved! I ordered these napkin rings and didn't think before they arrived that there'd been no size listed. They turned out to be cast iron with bees the size of the birds at my feeder. These may be the ugliest things I've ever ordered. I thought about a friend who could cut bee from ring but then what. Then I saw your shrine. Sigh... I once gave a friend a hummingbird feeder, told him how to make their food and then nothing else. A week or so later he called, quite shaken. "My God those tiny things are vicious! If they were the size of turkeys there'd be nothing left alive on the planet!" I may make some kind of shrine with one of the giants on it. I'd give it the paraphrased name my friend unknowingly suggested, "If those things were the size of turkeys...", and so on. You're brilliant and I'm so grateful!
