Today's spookiness is on the sweet side.
It's a coffin, and sure those are a bit creeptastic but inside...
... is a very sweet town overlooked by a happy autumn moon.
The wee houses are some of the clay ones I pit fired in the back garden. The moon is handmade from paperclay. The starts are Tim Holtz Mirrored Stars. The little pumpkins are THESE amazing pods. (They are absolutely one of my favourite products from AlphaStamps.)
And if you're in need of sweet spookiness, this wee thing is listed HERE.
Happy Equinox lovelies! I hope the new season is good to you.
Happy Equinox! totally charming & delightful - thank you
ReplyDeleteOh, Nichola! Yours was the first email I opened with my morning coffee and it is sure to put me in good with the Marvelous Day Faeries! Your coffin town is to die for! (no pun intended!) I've seen those pods on the Alpha Stamps site and haven't ordered because I just couldn't figure what to do with them. Now I see that I could make a mini mini Cinderella pumpkin coach - I have a scene forming already! Thanks for the inspiration - whenever there's a posting from you, I know I will come away from it delighted and refreshed and with a good idea! Thanks for sharing! (By the way, the coffins are beautiful - are they wood and sealed and waxed, or chipboard with collage sheet wood coverings?)
ReplyDeleteTristan you're too kind to me. You always say the nicest things and I appreciate it :) The coffins are just the inexpensive wooden ones you can get from the craft store. I've just applied a thin layer of paint, wiped of the excess and then sanded the edges. Nothing fancy!
DeleteHappy Equinox! I am so happy to see what has become of those adorable clay houses (well, some of them!) and this is truly spook-tastic and enchanting all in one! : )
ReplyDeleteawww the coffin village is perfect. Great idea! Fall is my favourite time of year. The sun shines and the air is crisp and the leaves are all changing colour, actually, they were changing a long time ago, but I think it was because of lack of rain. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOur leaves are just starting to change now. I am waiting very patiently for the show.
DeleteLove this! Great idea and project. Hugs
ReplyDeleteLove the project - such a sweet Autumn scene inside that wee coffin. Fantastic.

ReplyDeleteWow! Can I spend a day inside your head? lol. I have a few wooden coffins from Michael's and love them. You spooky town is just adorable and the tiny pumpkins & houses are to die (no pun intended) to die for. Wish Autumn would come here on the East Coast but we are still in summer mode with temps in the 80's...grrr.
ReplyDeleteI love Halloween and buy up loads of 'supplies' this time of year. Those coffins, little skeletons, bugs... enough to last me the rest of the year.
DeleteI love this!!!! What did you use for the blue background on the inside top of the coffin? Is that papered or painted?

It's glitter!!! A big fat healthy layer of the stuff.
