All that fuss!

I've found out what all the fairy fussing has been about!

Today an exciting discovery was made at our local arts and culture centre, The Gates.

It seems that the president of our arts council inadvertently invited the wee folk to visit the centre when he mumbled something one afternoon seven and three quarter weeks ago last Tuesday.

A quick look at the abandoned and over-grown mini-golf course next to the gallery revealed that they've made themselves quite at home...

I wonder what sort of mischief they'll cause during their stay :P

Feelin' Lucky

Okay, not really, because Lucky is a person and that would be inappropriate.

Rebecca, over at Impresario Artisan Market, held her grand opening last week and Lucky Jackson was there showing her work. Lucky has just finished an impressive embriodery feat, finishing 365 pieces, in one year. Her work is wonderful, vibrant and quirky. It's full-o-joy and something special and she's super nice too.

Check out Lucky Jackson's ETSYWEB365 LUCKY DAYS

If you're ever near Cobourg, you really should stop in at Impresario. I'm telling ya, if etsy had a retail store this would be it. Rebecca has done such a great job of filling the place with fine Canadian contemporary crafts and art. Hop over to 37 King Street West, Cobourg if you can... and if you come in October you can take a gander at my silly things which will be in the gallery for October ;)

Another discovery!

I went to the back lawn this morning to have a nose around those little tents I stumbled upon the other day and they were gone. There's not a trace of those little folk or their wee campsite (except for a few extra toadstools).

As I went to the far back corner of our lot to gather some pinecones I did make another discovery.

Another camp site, this one made up of wee-tee-pee's! Unlike the last camp these were well hidden from view beneath a large pine tree.

I do wonder what they are up to.

The coven is complete

I've finished up the last of my collaged witches. Here they be...

The last one is my favourite. Probably because it reminds me a bit of how I see my own self. Just an ordinary girl who happens to be a witch. I'm sure there's a lot of us out there ;)

Strange things afoot!

Besides the usual disappearance of my scissors and glue, there has been rather a lot of faerie activity about the place over the past week or so. I keep catching glimpses of  movement at the corner of my eye (most certainly a sign of faerie activity) and hearing odd noises in odd places. There is a general feeling of anticipation around 'the hill' not diminished by the winds of change that are blowing through and making all the trees 'creeeeeaaak'.

Today, the chickens were being particularly loud and when I went to investigate I spied something in the back field. I quickly grabbed the dog and took a jaunt across the little bridge.

Upon closer inspection I discovered a small camp on the mossy lawn next to the poison ivy!

This seems a rather different breed of fae than our usual inhabitants. The camp was not well hidden at all and provides the most basic shelter. The trees just to the left would surely give more protection than those little tents.

I'll keep my eyes open and report back any findings.

xoxo

Shrunken shrunken heads

I made a few shrunken shrunken heads the other day. Those glass domes measure around 1.8" tall so they're pretty tiny.

I think they need some proper specimen tags but you get the idea ;)
